About the Library
(Library)The ZU library started along with the institution
in the year 1998 with the aim of assisting the University in achieving its mission
and providing access to the information resources required by members of the
University for research, learning and teaching.
The library vision is to be the center of
information and research and to provide an excellence, modern and high quality library
services to students and staff. Our pages provide comprehensive information about Library
resources and services, link to electronic resources that we subscribe to,
for the benefit of staff and students, and many other links to freely available
online resources that we think will be useful to Library users.
There is a wealth of material to support learning and research at the University;
over 10,000 printed volumes and an extensive range of suitable electronic books.
There is a Child Protection Resource Center sponsored by Save the Children Zanzibar Office,
which provides access to child protection and child rights governance information.
The main library has one floor and a sitting capacity of 200 users at any given time.
The library uses Dewey Desimal Classification System (DDC) to arrange resources on shelves
