I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you as we embark on a new academic year in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. It is with great anticipation and excitement that we gather once again to continue our pursuit of knowledge, innovation, and personal growth.

As the Dean of this vibrant and diverse academic community, I am truly honored to be a part of a faculty that is known for its academic excellence, its commitment to fostering critical thinking, and its dedication to addressing the complex challenges of our world.

To our new students, I extend a special welcome. You are about to embark on an incredible journey of discovery, one that will broaden your horizons, challenge your perspectives, and provide you with the tools to make a meaningful impact on society.
Our faculty is here to support you every step of the way, and we are excited to witness your growth and achievements. To our returning students, faculty, and staff, I am inspired by your dedication and resilience. The past year has presented us with unforeseen challenges, and yet we have adapted and thrived. Together, we have demonstrated the strength of our academic community, and I am confident that we will continue to excel in the face of any obstacles that may arise.

Background History

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences was established in 2004. By 2012 the faculty had two departments which were the department of Public Administration and the department of Economics. From academic year 2012 to 2015 the faculty expanded to and it had four departments: which were Public Administration, Economics, Languages with Education and Social Work.

In the academic year 2013/2014 the Post graduate studies was established where Master of Public Administration was offered. Moreover, in the academic year 2014/2015 Master of Science in Economics and Finance was also introduced.

In the academic year 2015 number of departments increased to eight departments: Public Administration, Economics, Languages with Education, Social Work, Islamic Banking and Finance, Information Technology, International Relations & Diplomacy, and Department of Information Studies.
